ABOUT ABOUT

The Palmetto Center for the Arts Theatre Company at Richland Northeast High School will present Seussical the Musical, Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 9-11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 12 at 3 p.m. in the Richland District Two Auditorium, on the Richland Northeast campus. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults and may be purchased at the door.

Written by the Tony Award-winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, this exciting musical brings to life the wild, witty and whimsical world of Dr. Seuss and many of his beloved characters. Among them are such favorites as the Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Sour Kangaroo, Amazing Mayzie, all of Whoville and even the Grinch.
Featuring a score that includes pop, gospel, and rhythm and blues, young and old alike will be joyfully wrapped up in the chaos and wonder of a world where anything is possible, and touched by the unexpected real-world connections to our own personal lives.
The talented cast of over 30 students features Chyna Blackmon as the Cat in the Hat, Kacy Winterhalter as Gertrude McFuzz, Kristen Javis as Mayzie La Bird, and Nicole Seibles as the Sour Kangaroo. Cole Morgan portrays Horton the Elephant, with Errin Baylis and Lilly Coveney double cast as Horton's "Who" friend, JoJo. Alex Lopez and Emily Newman lead the "Whos" as Mr. and Mrs. Mayor, with Andrew Spencer as General Gengus Kahn Schmitz, commanding the "Who" Cadets.
The play is under the direction of Donna Wilson, with musical direction by Greg Boatwright and choreography by Nicole Hardenbergh.
